The Wright State University Film Program announces auditions for 3 Short Thesis Films:

Films will be shot in early summer 2018. Test footage will be shot around November/December 2017.

Actors will be paid and receive traveling expenses during production. Union or Nonunion.

To audition: Attend an Open Casting Call OR email the director and schedule an appointment

Date/Time:
Adult Roles: September 26 and October 3, 5:00-8:00pm
Children under 10 roles: October 10, 5:00-8:00pm

Wright State University
Studio of the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures (blue building next to library)
3640 Colonel Glenn Highway, Dayton, OH 45435

Signs will be posted.
Park in lot near Motion Pictures Center

An Appalachian mother rejects her reality of an ill son and faith-healing husband with the help of beach music, summer love, and a one-way ticket to California.

Hannah / Female / 25-35
A wife and mother who seeks freedom from her family, church, and rural isolation.

Stephen / Male / 25-35
Hannah’s husband, a working-class man who struggles to spiritually heal his sick son and grasp why his marriage is failing.

David / Male / 3-8
Hannah and Stephen’s only child, who is afflicted with fits of coughing and shrieking. *actor must be comfortable in shallow water.

In an alternate society where everyone is given a death date, a woman clings to her relationship with her husband, and her own life, the day before her scheduled termination.

Evee: Female (20-45)
A woman who has structured her life to fit within the system in order to be valued.

Tom: Male (20-45)
Evee’s husband, a man who has built his life around the system and refuses to doubt it.

Trapped in their home, a teen must overcome the terror of their father in order to rescue their mother and achieve freedom.

Aden: Male/Female (13-20)
An abused unstable teen who needs to overcome their fear in order to survive.

Marcus: Male (25-45)
Aden’s father, a manipulative man who demands obedience and revels in having control of every situation.

Sarah: Female (25-45)
Aden’s mother, a broken individual who’s been worn down and seeks revenge.
