BUSINESS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:

Children’s Concert Society (CCS), a nonprofit organization that has been in Summit County for 74 years, is looking for a Business Manager to run the daily office operations of our organization. Its mission is to educate and enrich the lives of school age children in the greater Akron community, providing access to live high quality performing arts experiences and accomplished through three different types of programs:  CONCERT HALL SERIES, IN-SCHOOL CONCERTS and SCHOLASTIC COMPOSERS CONTEST.  The Business Manager is responsible for all logistics related to these programs as well as working with the Board of Trustees.

BUSINESS MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organize and manage all logistics necessary for the three program types.
Effectively communicate program plans, timelines and responsibilities to all key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Keep detailed records for these programs, including the receiving and listing of all monies.
Maintain the CCS website.
Create program brochures and other print material as needed.
Create contracts for the professional musicians used.
Report at monthly Board meetings (10 a year).
Work with the Board Treasurer on materials needed for grants.
Keep a yearly list of donors and their contributions.
Adhere to all relevant laws and internal policies.
Order office supplies as needed.

BUSINESS MANAGER REQUIREMENT:

In-depth computer and social media skills.
Hands-on experience with maintaining websites.
Preferred work experience in a nonprofit or arts related organization.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
APPROPRIATE TRAINING TO ACCOMPLISH THE RESPONSIBILITIES LISTED ABOVE.

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:

THIS IS A FLEXIBLE TIME, BUT SALARIED POSITION. and it is an “At-will Position.”
Compensation, based on experience, will range from $35,000-$38,500.
The office is located at EJ Thomas Hall on the University of Akron Campus.
A yearly $220 parking pass is included.
Travel is limited once a month to Board of Trustee Meetings as well as the occasional meeting with granting agencies.  On a more regular basis is travel to the bank and post office.
