Join us for Weathervane’s Winter Workshops! Get over the winter blues with some artistic fun.

Workshops are open to all levels. Each workshop is 5-weeks long. Prepare for Spring classes by trying something new or continuing your theatre education.

JUMP START Music
Ages 3 - 5
Mondays 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. 
January 14- February 11
Tuition: $65.00

Fun while learning is the main objective. Students explore the basic concepts of pitch and rhythm using games, eurhythmics, and tone poems to learn the basics of reading music and ear training. Each session ends with a class demonstration, including a song with choreographed movements. Join us as we hop, skip, and jumpstart our way into the world of music.This workshop is great for beginners and returning students. 

Superhero Training
Ages 5 - 8
Saturdays 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. 
January 12- Feburary 9
Tuition: $75.00

It's a plane, it's a train, it's YOU!!  Create your own superhero character in this fun filled workshop and earn your cape. Students will learn what it takes to be a super hero through hands on activities that engage their imagination and creative skills. Through this theme they will learn about creating character, costume design, storytelling, and more. Journey through the Amazon, fly like superman, and save the world!This workshop is great for beginners as well as experienced performers. 

Broadway Dance Workshop
Ages 8 - 15
Saturdays 10:30 - 1:00 p.m. 
January 12- Feburary 9 
Tuition: $85.00
 
Weathervane’s Broadway dance classes are designed with the actor in mind. Students can continue to build on their dance technique, performance skills, and knowledge of different dance styles outside the traditional studio setting. In this workshop, students will focus on Jazz and Tap techniques used in popular Broadway shows. From Fosse to Tune, we are going to move! Jazz and Tap shoes required.This workshop is great for beginners as well as experienced performers/dancers. 

Stories of D & D
Ages 8-14
Saturdays 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. 
Tuition: $95.00

Explore the world of heroic fantasy through the popular game Dungeons and Dragons. In this workshop, students will take part in the game and use its theme and ideas to ignite their imaginations and create stories and characters through improvisation and acting exercises. Explore elements of theatre while taking a journey for treasure or battle deadly foes in the fun and interactive workshop.This workshop is great for beginners as well as experienced performers.

Improv Workshop
Ages 8 - 14
Saturdays 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
January 12- February 9 
Tuition: $75.00

Explore the elements of improvisation and experience the power of play with this introductory improv workshop.  Students will focus on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, active listening, character development, and team work.  This workshop is great for beginners as well as experienced improvers.

Character Development
Ages 10-17
Saturdays 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. 
January 12- February 9 
Tuition: $95.00

What does it take to create a character? Students will work with their instructor to examine the many elements that bring a character to life using a variety of exercises and activities. Use your imagination and creativity to take your performance to the next level! This workshop is best suited for intermediate/advanced students.

COLLEGE AUDITION WORKSHOP
Ages 15 and up 
Saturdays 2:00-4:00 p.m. 
January 12- February 2
Last day of class on February 16th 
Tuition: $100.00

Attention High School Juniors and Seniors!

Are you ready for College Audition season? Learn what it takes to stand out from the crowd. Join us for this 5 –week workshop to help prepare you for your college theatre auditions. Students will work with two adjunct professors from the Baldwin Wallace Theatre and Music conservatory programs to learn how to prepare for your audition, choose materials including monologues and music selections, and what college programs are looking for.

Students should come prepared with sample materials, song selections, and goals they wish to accomplish. Shake your nerves away and feel confident moving forward into your new role as a college student!

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.

Who should attend?
Nonprofit and for-profit leadership and marketing/communication professionals interested in learning about SEEN and participating in a conversation about the importance of authenticity and representation in our work.
