Abraham.In.Motion (A.I.M), a NY based modern dance company, will deliver an emotional performance when they make their Akron, OH debut!

Abraham.In.Motion (A.I.M), a NY based modern dance company, will deliver an emotional performance when they make their Akron, OH debut! Born into hip-hop culture in the late ‘70s, Artistic Director Kyle Abraham was raised with an artistic upbringing including cello, piano, and the visual arts. A 2013 MacArthur Fellow, he was one of the youngest people to be named a MacArthur “genius”. His choreography approaches movement as a way to delve into personal identity, race and social justice issues through movement, sound, human behavior and the visual arts in choreographic collaborations that come alive on stage.

The performance at E.J. Thomas Hall on October 6th at 7:30 pm will feature four different dance works showcasing A.I.M.’s talented dancers whose varied backgrounds in contemporary, modern, hip hop, tap and more allow them to perform works that range in movement style and tell stories that inspire personal reflection into history, societal issues and how the two ... view more »
