Ageism in Arts Education: The Last Acceptable Prejudice

Ageism in Arts Education: The Last Acceptable Prejudice

By 2030, there will be more Americans over age 65 than under 18 for the first time in US history. Persistent ageism sidelines and silences older adults—often goes unaddressed. This is a call to examine assumptions and beliefs about age and aging, and how it all shows up in arts organizations and programs. Learn how we can honor lived experiences, support creativity, and create more meaningful connections across generations.
