Tuesday Musical is partnering with Verb Ballets and the Chamber Music Society of Ohio to celebrate two internationally known and beloved Akron arts icons: jazz pianist/composer Pat “Patsy” Pace and Ohio Ballet founder/choreographer Heinz Poll.

Akron Legends of Jazz & Dance will feature Pace’s “Excursions,” first premiered by Akron-based Ohio Ballet in 1982 and now reimagined and performed by Verb. An ensemble of musicians will perform the original score. They include and are being organized by flutist George Pope, a member of the original “Excursions” ensemble and CMSO co-founder.

Verb also will perform Poll’s “Rococo Variations” with live music and in the original costumes, marking the piece’s first EJ performance in decades and the first since Ohio Ballet closed following Poll’s passing in 2006.
