Akron Lunar New Year Celebration

This year’s Downtown Akron Lunar New Year Celebration is happening in the evening on January 28, 2023, in the lobby of the Akron Civic Theatre. There will be food, beverages, and outstanding cultural performances, followed by fireworks outside.

4:30 — Doors open
5:30 — House (seating) opens
6 — Performance begins
7:30 — Fireworks (outdoors)

Ride METRO fixed-routes FREE to downtown Akron on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 from 2:30 – 10 pm when you show the event flyer (paper or digital) to the bus operator.

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
