Kick off Pride season the Akron Civic Theatre as local kings and queens go head to head (and heel to heel) to claim the titles of Mr. & Miss Akron Pride Festival 2019!

The crowned King & Queen and runner-ups will secure their position in this year’s festival day drag show taking place August 24th at Hardesty Park. Judges will evaluate performers on costume design, performance, and Q&A from our host, Nina West of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11. Don’t miss out on this unique evening of glitz and laughs all in support of the 2019 Akron Pride Festival!

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
