Akron Without Borders

Presented by International Institute of Akron at Summit Artspace, Akron OH

Jun 25 2017
Akron Without Borders

Join us for an evening of music, food, and fun in support of the International Institute of Akron!

President Trump signed an Executive Order halting refugee entry into the United States for 120 days. As you know, this has had devestating effects on immigrant and refugee communities, and the organizations that support them. The hold on refugee resettlement and a 55% reduction in refugees admitted to the U.S. this fiscal year, has resulted in a major cut in federal financial support for the IIA.The IIA, founded in 1916, promotes public awareness of the value of ethnic diversity and encourages international communication by providing assistance in education, immigration, citizenship, language, and refugee settlement. We need your help to continue to serve Akron’s international community, and to ensure the agency is strong when resettlement resumes.

Please join us on Sunday, June 25, 2017 for a fundraising event at Summit ArtSpace, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
