Battle of the Wagon Heel Drag Competition: Kent State University vs. University of Akron

Presented by Kent State University LGBTQ Student Center at The Interbelt Nite Club, Akron OH

Apr 24 2016
Battle of the Wagon Heel Drag Competition: Kent State University vs. University of Akron

There will be 5 drag performers representing each University (Kent State vs University of Akron), and three awards given (Mx KSU, Mx UA, and Mx Universities).   “Mx” is a somewhat new Prefix that is gender neutral and is replacing Mr., Miss, Mrs,, etc.    We are using “Mx” because we have some Drag Kings and some Drag Queens competing, so this title will work regardless of the gender of the winner.

There’s a $5 door cover, which Interbelt is donating back. Collected door cover donations will be split 50% KSU charity/ 50% UA charity. KSU is using collected funds to help replenish the KSU LGBTQ Emergency Fund, which is used to assist students who are oftentimes disowned or cut off from family support after ‘coming out’. And UA is using their collected funds to help support CANAPI (Community AIDS Network/Akron Pride Initiative).
