Beginners Hooking w/Yarn

Hooking with yarn is the perfect use for all those beautiful leftover yarns in your stash. From sock weight to jumbo, even the smallest pieces can be added to a design for an interesting effect. This introductory workshop will cover the use of tools and basic techniques which, when finished, will make a 12” x 12” sampler piece which can be made into a pillow or wall hanging.
Hoops and hooks are available from Long Tail Knits. The basic design is on a warp fabric with bound edges. Participants should bring their own yarns….bring lots of colors, textures and weights.
Future workshops will cover finishing techniques, color shading within a design, proddy and other wild side hooking!
What can these projects be used for, you ask? Pillows, wall hangings, totes, Christmas tree skirts, stockings and much more can be made from hooking with yarn. Thinking big? How about a headboard sized wall hanging? Custom designs will also be available.
