“Breaking the Silence” - UA Choir Concert

The premiere of UA Choir’s innovative virtual performance, “Breaking the Silence,” will be on Saturday, November 21 at 6 p.m.

The premiere of UA Choir’s innovative virtual performance, “Breaking the Silence,” will be on Saturday, November 21 at 6 p.m. COVID-19 has silenced a lot of live, in-person performances, but we are not letting the pandemic keep us from making music in a creative way.  The virtual performance will be presented in music video format, which was filmed and recorded under COVID-19 safety guidelines.  The program includes Zachary Moore’s “Let My Silence Grow,” Gioacchino Rossini’s “Kyrie” from Petite Messe Solennelle, Frank Ticheli’s “Earth Song,” and Artemisia’s “What Happens When a Woman.”

Watch online at www.uakron.edu/music. The concert is free – donations to benefit UA’s Choral Program are gratefully accepted at www.uakron.edu/giving/uacarol.
