Learn about Akron’s World War II newspaper cartoonist, Web Brown. Author Tim Carroll will talk about his new book on Brown and share some of Brown’s work. Register to receive a Zoom link.
Author Tim Carroll will present selected WWII cartoons created between 1934 and 1945 by Akron Beacon Journal cartoonist Web Brown. Carroll features a large collection of Web Brown’s work in his new book, World War II Cartoons of Akron’s Web Brown, who was considered one of the best cartoonists of the WWII era. Carroll is a local historian and also the author of another recent work titled World War II Akron, which features historic research and over 100 photos showcasing Akron’s involvement in the Second World War.
