Community Garden Leader Training

Interested in starting a community garden? Would you like to be part of a supportive network of community garden leaders?

Ohio State University Extension and Let’s Grow Akron are offering this FREE six week training for new or established community garden leaders.

Topics covered will include:

  • community engagement
  • establishing rules, roles, and responsibilities
  • land assessment and soil testing
  • navigating local regulations
  • identifying community assets
  • grant writing
  • and more!

Upon completion of this program, participants will be eligible to apply for a $500 Neighborfood grant from the Summit Food Coalition to be used for community garden expenses.
