Join the Museum’s very first session of the new Creative Aging Institute. Designed exclusively for adults 55+, this program offers in-depth, quality art-making experiences taught by local artists.
The eight-day class starts with a crash course in art history, then jumps into hands-on studio experiences, with each participant completing artwork as the class progresses. Upon course completion, participants will present a public art show and reception for their friends, family, and the public.
This first series will focus on the art of photography. From learning about the museum’s photography collection to trying traditional and non-traditional photography techniques, participants will leave with a deep knowledge of this exciting art-making process. The series is sequential, and participants should attend all eight sessions. FREE. Registration is required via Eventbrite or by emailing Merry Petroski at mpetroski@akronartmuseum.org
