Dakota Mace: Badahani

A solo exhibition of artwork by Diné (Navajo) photographer and textile artist, Dakota Mace.

Dakota Mace: Badahani is on view at the KSU Downtown Gallery from November 5 – December 18, 2021. Gallery hours: Mon – Fri 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sat 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Reception – December 3, 5-7 p.m.

Artist Talk – Friday, December 3, noon, CVA 165 (Center for the Visual Arts at Kent State)

Dakota Mace is a Diné (Navajo) photographer and textile artist who focuses on translating the language of Diné weaving history and beliefs through alternative photography methods, weaving, beadwork, and papermaking. She has also worked with numerous institutions and programs to develop dialogue and workshops on the importance of cultural appropriation concerning Indigenous design work.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative.
