"Drag Portraits" Livestream Virtual Exhibit Walk-through

Presented by Akron Soul Train at Akron Soul Train, Akron OH

Jan 19 2021

Watch along on Facebook as Akron Soul Train’s Meryl Engler and artist Max Markwald lead you through his exhibition.

Akron Soul Train’s Meryl Engler and painter Max Markwald will take you on a live, virtual tour of his large residency paintings.  This live conversation on his process will accompany two other videos that will be posted onto Akron Soul Train’s social media platforms – Max interviews Macho Grande, one of his subjects, about the drag world and the charity/activism work the drag community engages in (Part I, January 14) and Macho Grande interviews Max on being a trans artist and why he chose to paint those from the drag community (Part II, January 21).

It is encouraged to experience this exhibition in person, but the virtual tour offers an alternative to those who cannot participate due to COVID.
