drDOCTOR and Poetry In Akron are teaming up to celebrate the launch of drDOCTOR Vol. 1, and to benefit two invaluable organizations that need our support!
This is a free event with a DONATION-BASED cover charge that will benefit Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. We will have our readers’ books for sale, as well as copies of drDOCTOR Vol. 1. All proceeds from book sales will be donated to the organizations, per their authors.
In addition to happy hour from 7-9, the evening will feature a signature drink special: the NASTY WOMAN, a champagne-and-vodka cocktail with a cherry. Rife with symbolism, and delicious.
The first half of the evening will feature four poets; the second will be structured like a traditional drDOCTOR reading, featuring one poet, one nonfiction reader and one fiction.
