Ed Green - Impressions of the City

Award winning artist Ed Green, an Appalachian Artist who works primarily in Oil Paint, Pastels, Water Color and with Recycled Material opens his latest grouping of unique oil paintings called “Impressions of the City”

Ed Green is a self taught, award winning painter known for his unique impressionist style of looking at the world. Ed lives in Southern Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and generally his artwork reflects his surroundings.

His latest installment are his impression of the city. Ed feels that city life is chaotic and ending, full of bright lights and indistinguishable roads leading to nowhere. His process has several layers of thick oil paint topped with intricate knife work to create and form the rich thick texture of the painting.

You can get lost in the detail of each painting as a whole and can find patterns at every level of the painting. As a whole the images are intriguing but when you look close it opens new avenues with each viewing of every
