First Night at the Akron Art Museum

Make plans for New Year’s Eve and join the fun in Downtown Akron! Celebrate the 20th anniversary of this Akron staple.

First Night Akron is a New Year’s Eve celebration unlike any other that appeals to everyone, from families to retirees and millennials. This celebration of the arts brings the community together to create lasting memories. Come in out of the cold and celebrate the New Year! The galleries will be open for you to enjoy all our exhibitions and we’ll have a community activity in the lobby. First Night button required. Purchase buttons at FirstNightAkron.org, or in the Museum Shop ($10 for buttons, $15 for passports).

Museum Galleries will be open from 6:00 until 10:00 pm.

In the art museum auditorium

6:00 – 6:45 p.m. – Magical Theatre Company
7:00 – 7:45 p.m. – Magical Theatre Company
8:00 – 8:45 p.m. – Magical Theatre Company
9:30 -11:00 p.m. – Box of Squirrels (a mix of acoustic music from Chuck Berry to the Old Crow Medicine Show, with 4-part harmonies and a lot of humor, for all ages)

The Akron Art Museum will be closed during the day on Thursday, December 31. The museum opens at 6:00 pm that evening for First Night Akron.
