Guest pianist Jasmin Arakawa will host a recital on Friday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Guzzetta Recital Hall. Arakawa is Associate Professor of Piano and Piano Area Coordinator at the University of Florida.
Guest pianist Jasmin Arakawa will host a recital on Friday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Guzzetta Recital Hall. Arakawa is Associate Professor of Piano and Piano Area Coordinator at the University of Florida, and the Director of the UF International Piano Festival.
Prior to her recital, Arakawa will present her talk “Technique vs. Musicality?” on Friday, November 4 at 10 a.m. in Guzzetta Recital Hall. She will discuss techniques to help pianists become more expressive and musical. We will have examples from the standard piano repertoire to discuss the ways to reach the next level of artistry.
From 2 to 4 p.m., Arakawa will work with UA piano students in a masterclass in Guzzetta Room 147.
