Kicking off the new year the FJKluth Art Gallery will be unveiling our next exhibition, “Herakles and Busiris.” The exhibition features 14 digital reproduction paintings created by Koen Setaywan of Indonesia, based from sketches by Frederick John Kluth.
The artwork featured in “Herakles and Busiris” is a narrative of the stories of Herakes, the divine hero in Greek mythology, based on the 11th out of 12 labors of Herakles. The Eleventh Labor of Herakles was about Herakles tasked to bring Eurystheus, the king of Tiryns, the golden apples which belonged to Zeus. Each of the 14 paintings feature a key moment of Herakles’ journey.
