Learning the game of marbles at Kirby Day 2021
This event is to celebrate the legacy of well-known inventor Jim Kirby, who had over 150 patents to his name and once resided on the property which is now the 336-acre public park Richfield Heritage Preserve.
The Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve are celebrating Kirby Day on Saturday, August 20, 2022, 12-4 p.m., at Richfield Heritage Preserve. Parking for the event will be by the Summer Barn located at 4225 Oviatt Road (off Rt. 303)—look for the signage. This afternoon of festivity will feature kids’ crafts and games as well as fascinating STEM-related and fun marble activities—including a marble treasure hunt and an opportunity to learn the game of marbles from Michael Cohill of the American Toy Marble Museum. Some of the park’s historic structures will be open to tour that day. This free event will be held rain or shine.
