Live at Lock 4 feat. Kofi Boakye & Yours Truly and Jeff Klemm & the Letters

We want to prove that live, local music can draw a crowd in Akron so we’re throwing a party in Lock 4 every third Thursday from May to September featuring two local bands playing live, original music after DJ Roger Riddle gets us warmed up behind the 1s and 2s. But that’s not all. We’ll also have food trucks, craft beer and yard games like cornhole and a giant Jenga set. By the way, there’s no cover charge, no ticket. (aka – This event is FREE)

For our kick-off event, we’ll be treated to performances by Kofi Boakye & Yours Truly, a jazz/R&B/fusion/funk infused music group led by an award-winning 16-year-old who was awarded the “President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence” by the White House. They’ll be followed by Jeff Klemm & the Letters, led by Akron’s ass-busting JCK who fronts Maid Myriad and recently did a month-long residency at Annabell’s. Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
