Mark of Empowerment continues through December 16. This exhibition honors the incredible legacies that inspire communities to stand up for their rights and freedoms. The power of print has not only changed the course of history but has revolutionized the way people engage with their imaginations. This exhibition reflects on how printmaking takes action to speak out with activism. The work challenges racism, sexism, environmental injustice, social inequalities, infringement upon civil rights, and colonialism.
Mark of Empowerment is presented by the Emily Davis Gallery and Myers School of Art as part of the Mid American Print Council Conference ‘Power of Print’ hosted by the Kent State University School of Art in partnership with The University of Akron, Cleveland Institute of Art, Zygote Press, and the Morgan Conservatory.
