"Matt's First (Real) Thanksgiving" (Staged Reading)

“Matt’s First (Real) Thanksgiving” tells the story of Matt, who brings home his younger boyfriend, Jason, on Thanksgiving to meet his family for the first time. Unfortunately, Matt’s family doesn’t know that he’s gay. Add to that a drunken aunt, a wise-cracking grandma & an unwanted ex-boyfriend & you’ve got an hilarious holiday!

“Matt’s” has been performed as a ten-minute play at Western Reserve Playhouse and as a thirty-minute play at the 2018 Summit StageFest. The ninety minute version had a Staged Reading at Western Reserve Playhouse in December 2017. This event will feature the full two-act version of the play.

Playwright Brandi Eaton’s ten-minute play “A Telegram in the World of Smartphones” was the first-place winner at the 2014 8×10 TheatreFest held at Weathervane Playhouse and went on to be performed at the 2016 Short + Sweet Festival in Sydney, Australia.

A showcase of six of her ten-minute plays was staged at Western Reserve Playhouse in August 2017.
