Join us and celebrate the opening of internationally renowned sculptor Peter Jones’s newest work.
To date, 5800 Native women have been found murdered or are missing from our communities across the United States and Canada and no one has been held accountable. O-bit-u-ary, the newest exhibition from internationally-renowned sculptor Peter Jones, brings this horrific reality to the forefront of public awareness.
Join on September 29 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm for the debut of Jones’s new work. Light refreshments will be served, and all guests will receive free admission to the new exhibit.
This exhibit is part of the North American First People’s Day event series organized by the Portage Path Collaborative.
About the Artist
Peter Jones is a renowned potter and sculptor who resides on the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation of Indians. He studied under Hopi artist Otellie Loloma while attending the Institute of American Indian Art in New Mexico. Free parking is available in the lot directly adjacent to the building. This lot contains a dedicated accessible parking spot near the museum entrance.
Free parking is also available in Lot 30 at the corner of College and Market streets, which contains several accessible parking spaces.
Metered parking is available along South College Street. Pavement from Lot 30 and metered parking may be uneven, and people with limited mobility should exercise caution.
