Rick Rogers: Collector Talk

Rick Rogers, a leading collector of contemporary ceramics and twentieth-century American and European design, will offer insights about collecting and discuss his own art collection, Hieronymus.

The name of the collection was inspired by the Renaissance artist Hieronymus Bosch, whose stirring paintings depict fantastical scenes that instill both terror and delight.

Encompassing this aesthetic, Rick thoughtfully selects ceramics, paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, architecture, and other curiosities that follow this narrative.

An Akron native, philanthropist, and collector, Rick holds an MBA from Ohio State University and a BA in Biology and Chemistry from Hiram College. Ever the entrepreneur, Rick began his career in 1980 as founder and president of Tribute, a software company based in Akron, Ohio.

He assumed leadership of B. W. Rogers Company, a manufacturing and distribution company founded by his grandfather, in 1994. Currently, Rick is the founding Executive Director of Curated Storefront, an organization that activates vacant storefronts in downtown Akron with art displays.
