Three dynamic musicians share perspectives and new recordings of classical songs from far outside the canon!
February 1st’s episode features Haitian-American baritone Jean-Bernard Cerin, soprano Sherezade Panthaki, and keyboardist Henry Lebedinsky. Cerin probes the first iterations of Haiti in the Classical music tradition, Lebedinsky introduces modinhas by mulatto composer Joaquin Manoel da Câmara (approx. 1780-1840), and all our guests collaborate remotely to record rarely-performed songs by Guadeloupe-born composer Joseph de Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745-1799).
