SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL IN KENMORE Akron Parks Challenge recipient, Friends of Chestnut Ridge Park, leverages new improvements and launches the first event of the 2019 season: Shakespeare in the Park.

Beginning at 1:00 PM, children will have the opportunity to make medieval flower crowns and Shakespeare collars, learn to pronounce phrases and meet in-character volunteers, a juggler and a stilt walker. Before the play, a local cellist will perform classical music.

Guests will settle in for the main event at 3:00 PM, with scenes from A Midsummer’s Night Dream inside the Chestnut Ridge Park, which is located at 1926 19th Street SW in Akron’s Kenmore neighborhood.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
