Try your hand at batik, a technique of wax-resist dyeing used by Akron Art Library collection artist Christi Birchfield. In this all-day workshop with Praxis, we will explore the use of soy wax as a resist on fabric to create layered designs in easy to do steps. Participants will work with fabric dyes to establish a color palette and will make or use found objects for stamping into the fabric using soy wax. All materials provided with the registration fee.
