Spring Into Metalsmithing

This Zoom 8-week course is designed to introduce students to the essential fabrication skills associated with silversmithing, metalsmithing, and jewelry making. Exploration of the techniques will enable students to express themselves through the use of non-ferrous metals as a media.
Classes will be structured by beginning with show-and-tell sessions with students and general check in. Then the bulk of the class will be demonstrating techniques through a metalsmithing project. Classes will conclude with a brief introduction to the tools needed for the following weeks project. Following are samples of projects for each week including a list of the techniques demonstrated in class, by date.
This course focuses on learning traditional metalsmithing techniques while progressively and safely setting up a home studio. Information on Cost to Students:
The class fee is $400 for this 8 week course. Tools and Materials are available for purchase through the instructor and are an additional cost but are not required.
Generally, Kristina recommends to budget $650 total for this class, at the minimum. That number includes the Class Fee and an average of $80 for 3 materials and tools orders through the progression of the class. Tools and materials are catered to each individual students needs. Kristina extends her RioPro discount on materials and tools pricing in the kits and has used tools available to purchase for those on a budget.
At the end of the 8 week class, students will have a fully functional home studio.
Signing up for class before April 2nd will enable students to receive Tool and Material Kits before class starts!
