Spring Series at EJ Thomas Hall

GroundWorks presents its Spring Series at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall on March 4 & 5 at 7:30 pm. Northeast Ohio’s premier contemporary dance ensemble will once again bring breath-taking performances to Akron, featuring a world premiere by guest artist Loni Landon, 2014 Princess Grace Choreography award winner.  Also featured on the program is David Shimotakahara’s haunting exploration of humanity’s past, present and future through Tan Dun’s “Ghost Opera.”  This world renown work is performed with live string quartet and Chinese pipa and was choreographed by Shimotakahara in 2014, the first ever choreography to this music.  This unique evening of dance and music promises variety, excitement and great art.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.

Nonprofit and for-profit leadership and marketing/communication professionals interested in learning about SEEN and participating in a conversation about the importance of authenticity and representation in our work.
