Story Collaging Workshop with Drew Ippoliti

Presented by Akron Soul Train at Akron Soul Train, Akron OH

Sep 17 2022
Story Collaging Workshop with Drew Ippoliti

Join Akron Soul Train and ceramic sculptor Drew Ippoliti for this FREE Story Collaging workshop. Using found images and hand cut paper, participants will translate their stories using this exciting visual medium.

In this short workshop participants will learn about Drew Ippoliti’s method for story collaging, including breaking down stories into bite size moments, hunting for imagery and building it all into a compelling collage. This method is vital for his work and his inspiration for his abstract ceramic sculptures. We will focus on methods of arranging and cataloging ideas and storytelling. Participants will have the opportunity to craft their own collages while sharing time with each other. Please feel free to bring any magazines, newspapers, or anything else from which to collect images, words, and inspiration.
