BUSY BEE’S
Recommended Ages: 5 – 12
Local Art educator and freelance artist Sarah Gott, Candle chandler Kaley Foster and Pollinator specialist Denny Reiser are teaming up to present this history packed, summer art camp workshop just for kids here in the heart of our city! Using 100% Ohio bees wax and simple equipment local chandler Kaley Foster from Urban Buzz will teach children how to safely make their own beeswax honeycomb keepsake. Campers will take a walk across the bridge to Akron’s historic Mustill Store and Pollinator specialist Denny Reiser will explain the importance of the honey bee culture to the children while exploring the Cascade Valley park.
COST : $45 per child. Workshop includes, Wax keepsake, bug bag, a lesson on hand-building with clay, and all the supplies needed to create a personalized bumble bee figurine of your own. Fresh fruit, water and morning snack will be provided.
