UDS All-Star Community Strides

United Disability Services (UDS) in Akron is excited to announce the return of All-Star Community Strides, a virtual event that encourages everyone to get out and get moving to support inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Participants will simply be asked to sign up and commit to spending time taking a walk around their neighborhoods, in a favorite park, or on an accessible trail. The event is flexible and participants can walk, run or roll to fit any schedule. This is the perfect opportunity to make that daily walk count for a great cause!

For a modest registration fee of $25, Star Strider participants will receive a gaiter in the mail to wear to show support while walking. Upgrade to a $40 Shooting Star Strider registration and also receive an event yard sign to encourage others in your neighborhood to join in the fun. Registrants will be recognized on the event website with proceeds benefiting UDS All-Star Training Club inclusive sports program, which encourages children and adults of all abilities to participate in competitive sports that help build self-esteem, promote sportsmanship, encourage healthy living/physical fitness and develop long-lasting friendships. The program currently offers 12 different year-round sports including bowling, basketball, and gymnastics.
