Weathervane’s Virtual Summer Camps are back!

Weathervane’s Virtual Summer Academy is back offering some great camp options for virtual learning. All of our virtual camps have been designed to be done online via ZOOM for one week. Campers will receive camp packages with supplies (if applicable) the week before the camp begins. Campers will also have a working lunch break each day away from the screen to complete tasks. A Study of Vibrant Characters in Musicals 
Teacher: TBA
Ages 10-17
June 7-11 (1 week)
10:00-1:00 p.m.
What makes you stand out as a musical theatre performer? This virtual camp will look at some of the most well-known singers and musical theatre stars, examining the things that make them a great performer through discussions and coaching.  Join us LIVE via zoom to gain more knowledge and become a better performer.

Silly Scenes and Stories: Free to be me! 
Teacher: Abigail Lyman
Ages 5-9
June 28-July 2 (1 week)
10:00-1:00 p.m.
It’s back this summer with new scenes and stories! Learn theatre skills through creative play, students will study story structure and character development using silly stories and games about being the best you can be. This virtual camp is a great way to learn the basics of theatre and performance skills. Each day, students will meet with their instructor LIVE via zoom. The session will end with a virtual presentation that will be shared with family and friends.

Tech Intensive

July 12-July 16 (1 week)
10:00-1:00 p.m.
Tech Track is going virtual! This camp is for students who want to study the visual elements of theatre from costumes, props, lighting and set design. Students work alongside their instructor LIVE via zoom to dive into the beside the scenes work that brings a production to life!

Broadway Boot Camp: Athletic Animals with the Akron Zoo 
Teacher: Lauren Mathis
Ages 5-10
July 19-July 23 ( 1 week)
10:00-1:00 p.m.
We are very excited to partner with the Akron Zoo for this fun-filled camp! Build your knowledge and strength in this one-week virtual dance camp. Campers will learn and meet some of the most athletic animals along with some fun dances inspired by them, discovering new ways to stay active and healthy LIVE via zoom each day.

POP Star Camp 
Teacher: Danielle Vivcharenko
Ages 5-9
August 2-August 6 (1 week)
10:00-1:00 p.m.
Become a Pop Star is this virtual camp! Campers learn how to steal the spotlight with some fun songs and dance moves to their favorite pop songs. Our performers will debut their new act at the end of camp with this microphone in-hand.
