Women's Art League Fall Members' Show

 

 

The Women’s Art League Fall Members’ Show opens Friday, Nov. 11, in the Transition Gallery of Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St., Akron. Hours are noon to 7:00 p.m.

The judged show runs until Saturday, Dec. 3, during Akron Artwalk when there will be a closing reception from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The show will also be open during Crafty Mart’s Holiday Show in Summit Artspace on Nov. 26, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Nov 27, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Kent artist Linda Hutchinson will judge the show which will be presenting first, second and third awards and honorable mentions. More than 30 local female artists from the group are expected to enter work in the competition.

This venerable art organization is celebrating its 83rd year and boasts Gertrude Seiberling, of the family who built Akron’s gracious and most famous mansion, Stan Hywet, as one of its founding members. Members’ show Chairperson Judith Salamon said the group is proud of its ... view more »
