Wonderful Weaving Workshop

Join Akron Craft + Social Club at the International Institute of Akron for our March event, “Wonderful Weaving Workshop” a creative opportunity to get crafty, get social, and give back to a local charity.

As a participant, you will learn weaving FUNdamentals with a portable and simple loom. You will take home your own handcrafted weaving kit and loom, your own woven piece and an instruction sheet with tips and tricks. Looms and materials are supplied, we have a large selection of yarns available on the day. You may like to bring along scraps of yarn, fabric, fibers, ribbons, beads, etc. that you may want to incorporate into your piece. No experience is necessary!

A portion of proceeds from “Wonderful Weaving Workshop” will benefit the International Institute of Akron, a non-profit organization that welcomes new Americans to Akron to make our community their home. IIA’s mission is to contribute to the well-being of our community by creating and implementing programs and services that assist those born outside the United States to integrate into American society. The IIA works to promote public awareness of the value of ethnic diversity and to encourage international communication.

Registration is required via Eventbrite. $50 event fee includes all supplies, materials, and take home kit. Registration also includes heavy appetizers provided from local establishments owned by our international neighbors. You are welcome to bring your own beverages.
