Yoko Ono Imagine Peace

Yoko Ono Imagine Peace exhibition will be returning to the Emily Davis Gallery at the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art December 8, 2017 through January 31, 2018.

Yoko Ono Imagine Peace is returning to Emily Davis Gallery, after ten years, commemorating the exhibition’s 2007 debut. Imagine Peace is an interactive and thought-provoking exhibition. It invites guests to leave their mark, share their hopes and contemplate the meaning of peace. On view December 8, 2017 through January 31, 2018.

50 years of Ono’s artwork questing for peace will be on display. Imagine Peace Maps, is the single returning piece from the 2007-2014 national tour, as it was displayed at the Emily Davis Gallery. With this piece, serving as anchor, the curators make new connections, form new relationships among works by Yoko Ono along with works created in response. Several pieces were created with the assistance of University of Akron Alumni, who’ve worked on the exhibition throughout its tour.

Each artwork is interactive and engaging, allowing all visitors to think deeply about the messages being conveyed through each activity and through the lens of peace.
