It’s Halloween fun for individuals with special needs. Join us for this event that is all treats and no tricks at the Akron Zoo!

We’ll be opening an hour early for people with special needs who don’t like crowds or loud noises to trick-or-treat. Stop by your Akron Zoo for everyone’s favorite non-scary Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Acme Fresh Market. Bring your own bag or bucket to collect treats from 12 themed treat stations spaced throughout the park.

Event tickets are required. Tickets are separate from Boo at the Zoo general admission tickets. Limited number of tickets available.

Adults may come in costume. However, adults are prohibited from covering their face with masks, face paint or other face coverings.


All guests must have a ticket to enter, including free MEMBER observers. Tickets are available online and at the Akron Zoo box office. Tickets are not available at Acme Fresh Market stores this year.

Ticket Definitions
Trick-or-treater: Anyone who wishes to collect treats from each treat stations, regardless of age.
Observer: Anyone, including members, visiting the zoo who does not wish to trick-or-treat.
Infant: Children under two who will NOT be trick-or-treating. Infants do require a ticket.

Early-Bird Prices (tickets purchased by 10/09):
Trick-or-treaters: $13
Non-member observers: $10
Akron Zoo Member observers: Free
Infants: Free
Non-member parking/shuttle: $3 per vehicle

Regular Admission Prices:
Trick-or-treaters: $15
Non-member observers: $12
Akron Zoo Member observers: $2
Infants: Free
Non-member parking/shuttle: $3 per vehicle

The zoo will remain open for Boo at the Zoo until 7:00 p.m., though crowds and noise levels will greatly increase after 11:00 a.m.
