Akron’s home for poets, writers, storytellers, readers, and dreamers! Enhancing literacy, encouraging compassion, and cultivating community.

There are many ways ideas and dreams culminate into reality, and Rubber City Tales has been percolating in my mind for fifteen years. When finding a place to write and read, a place to sip hot beverages and possibly collaborate with other creatives, I was always saddened no place like this existed. So, taking the advice of Anne Rice who said “If you cannot find the book you want to read, write it.”, I applied this to business and decided to create the space I found myself searching for.

Rubber City Tales is more than a book store. This is a home for Akron’s writers, thinkers, readers. A place to drink coffee, snack, collaborate, and dream. This is a place for Akron, a place for you, our community.

It is our mission to enhance literacy, encourage compassion, and cultivate the diversity of our community. How you may ask? By bringing together artists, writers, and dreamers to revel in the beauty of the written word.
