The Akron Jewish Center—the community’s central home–was first formed in 1920 and moved into a new building on Balch Street in 1929. Today, over 90 years later, the 60-acre community campus on White Pond Drive, renovated through a $7 million dollar capital campaign in 2004-2005, is home to the Jerry Shaw Jewish Community Center of Akron. The community campus also houses the Jewish Community Board of Akron, Jewish Family Service, and The Lippman School.
