I have an MAT in Visual Education, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, both from Kent State University.

I am mostly a self-taught artist. I have taken a few workshops now and then, but most of my learning has been from trial and error, and sheer determination to figure things out. Painting, photography, and printmaking are my main focus, but lately I have been experimenting with new ways to make marks and to create art from everyday objects.

My latest creative endeavor is to create images out of lipstick. It’s a very focused process where I use a grid system on canvas and then use my physical lip impression to create images of art. All with lipstick.

In 2013, I was honored to win the Akron Art Prize for my submission of a self-portrait made of lipstick.

I continue to experiment with this medium through smaller sized modern prints and portraiture.
