I’m a visual artist with an eclectic practice that includes acrylic on canvas, mixed media work on recycled cardboard (from cereal & cracker boxes), nature mandalas, art journals, iPhone photography, and hand stitching. Creative play is a daily habit and way of life. I rely heavily on intuition and a spirit of “just try”, layering each piece until it rings true as abstract, landscape or figurative. Whether working at the easel in our basement or at the kitchen island on a cardboard piece, I jump in with only a glimmer of an idea, certainly no set plan. A painting or collage piece is deemed ‘finished’ once it rings true and captures a feeling or suggests a story.

I value the creative process as a means of exploration, meditation and understanding. It teaches me patience, presence and courage. (Typically, I paint myself into a corner/mess and have to work my way out). Art also opens doors of communication and connection. It’s always a pleasure to learn that one of my paintings “speaks” to someone and is given a new home.
