The Development Assistant and Administrative Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Status: Part Time (Monday-Friday) 30 hours per week at the DANCECleveland offices located at historical Shaker Square and during weekend performances, approximately 5-9 times per year, at culturally centered location such as Playhouse Square-Cleveland and E.J. Thomas Hall-Akron. Exempt.

Description: The Development Assistant and Administrative Coordinator is an integral member of the DANCECleveland staff. This person directly manages functions that serve the efficient running of an office and DANCECleveland programming activities.

Administrative Duties: This person is responsible for managing and executing initiatives that contribute to the functioning of the office. As the lead person for the office administrative functions, this person will answer and screen telephone calls, maintain files, ticketing functions, mailings, project management and services for equipment and maintenance. As an organization that continually updates procedures to streamline its operations, this person will contribute ideas for organizing, evaluating and implementing all operational procedures for the organization.

Development Assistant: This person will usually be the first point of contact to our patrons and Board and will be responsible for executing the requisite patron services. In this capacity this person will coordinate and execute the organization’s annual fund activities, be responsible for all donor acknowledgement correspondence, organize and maintain the donor data base and other information management resources.

Ticketing: DANCECleveland holds a Playhouse Square ticketing computer in its offices. This person will be trained on this equipment and duties will include coordinating all aspects of ticketing operations for subscribers and group ticket purchasers. In this capacity, this person will contribute to decisions about ticket pricing, coordinate all activities leading up to the launch of the ticket sales, manage the subscription ordering process, ticketing and ticket mailings.

Required Qualifications and Core Competencies:
The desired candidate will be a results-oriented individual, highly organized and possessing strong customer service skills. It is imperative that candidates possess strong computer skills and have a comfort level with learning and working with a variety of computer systems. The DANCECleveland staff operate as a team and as such, the desired candidate will need to be comfortable in a teamwork environment.

Qualifications must include:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• a minimum of two years of administrative support experience
• excessively organized
• strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and professionalism
• Dance experience or appreciation of dance preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
