By Suzan-Lori Parks | Directed by Jimmie Woody

PERFORMANCE DATES:
November 3, 4, 5, 10, 12 @ 7:30 PM
November 6 & 12 @ 2:00 PM

Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Suzan-Lori Parks’ play centers around an unnamed African-American grave digger, referred to as the “Foundling Father”, who gains a measure of fame due to his uncanny resemblance to Abraham Lincoln. His fame comes from an attraction he runs that, for the cost of a penny, allows customers to take on the role of John Wilkes Booth and re-enact Lincoln’s assassination.

The first act explores The Foundling Father’s history and experience, while the second act explores the attitudes and relationships of his ex-wife and son to both his experiences and that of Lincoln himself.
