Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio Event 1/15/17

 Unknown, OH, Unknown

We would, once again, like to invite everyone to the rebirth of the Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio! The organization, which was founded in 1975 as the local branch of “Puppeteers of America”, was one of the strongest puppetry groups in the United States. Dormant for the last several years, the Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio is gearing up for its first event of 2017 and we would love to see you there!

We are looking to rebuild the organization and to create a wonderfully creative and educational support group for everyone that has an interest in the art of puppetry! From professional performers, to beginners, puppet collectors and anyone who would love to learn more about puppetry, all are welcome.

Who:
Puppeteers, Theater Professionals, Students, Collectors, & Everyone that has an interest in the art of puppetry!

When:
Sunday January 15, 2017

Time:
2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Where:
Grace Presbyterian Church
1659 Rosewood Ave, Lakewood, Ohio 44107

What to bring:
1 – A favorite puppet, book, or puppet-related item for discussion & “Show & Tell”
2 – A puppet-related item that you want to get rid of for our “Puppet Swap” (if you have one)
3 – A non-perishable food item for the church’s food pantry (gotta pay for the space)
4 – An open mind, open heart and love of all things puppetry
5 – Bring a friend, student or anyone that would love to learn more about the art of puppetry

The event will include:
– “Meet & Greet”
– Discussion on the art of puppetry, as well as about the organization and our hopes and goals for the coming year!
– Various puppets on display
– “Adding”Zing” to Your Show” – a brief workshop on lighting and special effects for puppet theater
– Light refreshments

Please feel free to share this invitation with students, friends and anyone that you know, who is a puppeteer, puppet enthusiast, collector, or just plain old interested in the art of puppetry!
