The National Arts Action Summit:
Arts Advocacy Day and Nancy Hanks
Lecture on Arts & Public Policy
March 12-13, 2018 in Washington, DC

Join arts advocates from across the country this spring on March 12-13, 2018 in Washington, DC for the 31st annual National Arts Action Summit, consisting of Arts Advocacy Day and the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy.

2017 has brought enormous changes to Washington, DC and the nation. With challenges to the funding for the National Endowment for the Arts and other cultural agencies, federal advocacy has become more important than ever. Incredible advocacy efforts this past year have ensured that the Endowments will not be eliminated for FY 2018. However, the fight continues as we expect new threats to arise next year.

By presenting a thoughtful unified message to members of Congress on Arts Advocacy Day, you can ensure that your voice is heard when Congress considers issues like education, job creation, creativity, and innovation throughout the year.

Our democracy is not only built on voting, but active engagement with elected officials in Washington as well. Members of Congress are your representatives on Capitol Hill—your voice in the federal government. Now is the time to make sure members of Congress hear how essential arts and arts education are to your community.

The arts are bipartisan. The arts make an impact in every community nationwide. Americans for the Arts has worked for more than 50 years to bring this message to countless different administrations and leaders in Congress, but we need you to drive the message home with your U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators. This is a battle we can’t afford to lose. Join us in Washington on March 12-13, 2018.

Register today to ensure that your members of Congress will hear—directly from you—about the indispensable role arts play in your life, community, and schools. (CLICK HERE!)
