Leadership Akron Class 34 is seeking applications from nonprofit agencies that support efforts that will positively impact youth in Summit County, Ohio.

The current Leadership Akron Signature Program developed the Youth Impact Grant as the focus for its 2018 philanthropy project. The grant will apply to a maximum of two organizations, each of which must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, religious group, or tax-supported educational institution. Organizations who are able to collaborate to make a greater impact as a result of each of their areas of expertise are preferred. The purpose of this grant is to encourage organizations to support youth in one or more of the four following areas: basic needs, after school support/programming, leadership/social skills development, or college/career readiness.

Class 34 is offering a grant(s) totaling up to $10,000. The funding, made possible through the generous support of United Way of Summit County, will be awarded by June 2018. “Class 34 is so grateful to United Way of Summit County for their continued support of the Leadership Akron philanthropy project,” said Andrea Conti, Clerk of Cuyahoga Falls Mayor’s Court and Committee Chair for the project. “We look with excitement toward the opportunities this will offer to the youth in our community.”

The applicant must meet the following requirements: must be a nonprofit as outlined above, located or serving in Summit County, and must have been in operation for at least 2 years. No letter of interest is required. In order to apply, applicants must first provide basic contact information at www.leadershipakron.org/philanthropy-form to receive the application packet via email. Application packets are due on or before March 2, 2018. Questions may be submitted via email to philanthropy@leadershipakron.org.
